The Tradeoffs Roadtrip
When I first saw this F650GS back in service I thought, “Oh boy, we got a weird one here.” But Tamela Rich was inside, plotting routes while her bike was being fixed (it was towed in). She’s on a road trip, riding for breast cancer. Check out her website. You’ll find stories, pictures, and links to follow her on Twitter or become her fan on Facebook. So no, not weird at all. She’s out there making a difference.

Nice blog!
I’m glad you got to meet Tamela. We’re all fans of hers here in Charlotte, NC.
Six months ago she didn’t know how to ride a bike. She just decided she wanted to do something BIG and make a difference.
She asked questions, found a posse of riders, lined up sponsors, studied others who had done similar endeavors. She just plain did her homework.
Gotta love and respect someone who sets a goal no matter how ridiculous it seems to everyone (yes, an 8,000 mile cross country trip sounded RIDICULOUS), and goes out and makes it happen.
A group of us are heading up to greet her in Asheville on Saturday, to ride home with her to the finish in Charlotte on Sunday.
Thanks for taking care of her.
