Unfortunately, Marklyn, who was supposed to lead the ride couldn’t make it because she had bike trouble. We gotta get her on a BMW! But I digress…

So Fielding led most of the ride and turned it over to Justin near Desoto. Justin promptly got lost, but the group was only a couple miles from Desoto at the time and he found a neat little road on the way so all was not lost.

We won’t mention the approximately one and a half miles of large gravel. The folks on street bikes loved it! Not. Marklyn said there wasn’t any gravel but she hadn’t pre-ridden the route. Oh well, it was a adventure.

Of Fat Boys, Justin says, “Fat Boys was cool. It had Marklyn written all over it.” He meant that in a nice way. There were about 50 other bikes of all brands there.

On the way home the group stopped in Defiance to watch a little of the Missouri basketball game and then headed home.

“Thanks Marklyn! It was a beautiful day and great ride. Sorry you could not make it. We followed your instructions until we got lost and then reverted to the magic Garmin, which got us into De Soto. There wasn’t a problem with your instructions; Justin says he likes to get lost! You can guess who was leading at the time? Food and company were great! We let the magic Garmin guide us through the rest of your instructions. We arrived at Defiance and found two taverns, one full of Harleys and one without any bikes, so we decided to help out and fill the empty lot with BMW’s. Had a Coke and headed for the house. Justin= Adventure. You can lead anytime! Thanks to all that rode.”
