Ready for a blast to kick off the New Year? In honor of Mardis Gras, we are having a Jambalaya Cook-off! Time to retire an old helmet? We’ll have 10% off all helmets, one day only sale. Now stocking Leatt and Klim stuff for off-road and dual sport enthusiasts. Also, we will have a big batch of Marklyn’s famous jambalaya for everyone ot eat along with drinks, so come hungry!

Rules for the Cook-off:

Bring your favorite recipe of jambalaya in a crock pot, extension cord, stirring/serving spoon. We will provide Boz cups for sampling, forks, napkins, table space, voting bags, tickets and gift certificates for the top three winners. There is no entry fee and no money exchange. Space is limited to the first 15 entries. Call to make your reservation now at 314-427-9090. Tasting begins at 11 a.m. so be here to set up at 10 to 10:30 to get things going. Winners will be announced at 1 p.m. This is a blind contest for tasting only, judged by people who taste and vote for their favorite dish. No names or signage will be posted with entries. Helpful tip: please have your recipe already warmed when you arrive, not cold out of the fridge. It takes too long for the food to heat in time for tasting. The microwave will not be available for heating. Certificates will be made out to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners by count of the votes. 1st place–$75, 2nd place–$50 and 3rd place–$25 gift certificates to Gateway BMW/Husqvarna Motorcycles.

Meet Charlie, a new full time service tech. He comes from an automotive and motorcycle mechanic background.

Tom Donovan will begin working on January 10. Many of you already know Tom. He worked at the old Motorrad on Forest Park, at BMW Motorcycles on Page Avenue, and most recently at Dave Clark’s. He’s a Master Mechanic and has plenty of expertise on airheads and older K bikes.

Mansfield, MO MHSC Races

Of the race in Mansfield, MO last Sunday, Damian says, “Just had the last MHSC race of the year. I finished 2nd in the race and locked up second in the class for the year. The Husqvarna WR250 worked great for the year and I had my best year yet. I finished 25th overall and looks like I am going to have to race pro next year!! A class here I come.”

Jeff moved up a class and didn’t fare well.

Halloween Weekend Campout

Join Honz and staff and other customers at Honz’s Rogue Creek Adventure Camp for some Halloween frivolity. This is for off-road and street bikes. Flat River Hare Scrambles

Damian says, “Sunday was another great race at Flat River. 170 racers and I finished 19th overall. I finished second in class right behind the first place guy. The WR250 was running strong I just need to get better in the sand. The last race for the season is on the 30th in Mansfield, MO. I need to finish in the top ten in class to lock up second for the season!!

Jeff finished 4th, and he’s moving up a class next year.
